Manchester
Welcome to the Manchester division of the College of Professional Studies, the university's campus in the heart of the Merrimack Valley. Our mission is to provide the world-class UNH education and degree in the state’s business hub.
Here, we capitalize on our location in the revitalized millyard of New Hampshire’s largest city. Our campus on the banks of the Merrimack River is a few blocks from the heart of the state’s financial and corporate center and home to many of the region’s non-profit and government offices. Led by faculty who are experts in their fields, our career-driven programs prepare students for the opportunities of tomorrow in the region’s business, education, biotechnology, government, nonprofit, service and technology sectors.
We are uniquely equipped to support regional economic development, creating a campus environment in which students, faculty, business/industry, government and nonprofits collaborate on mutually beneficial projects and initiatives. As a community partner, we have a commitment to the region's economic vitality, respond to educational and economic opportunities and support innovation and student access to programs designed and delivered for the future.
Bringing together career-driven programs, faculty talent and a focus on experiential learning, the Manchester division of CPS prepares students for success in their chosen field — and connects them to the wealth of opportunities in the region and beyond.
Accreditation
The University of New Hampshire at Manchester was established in 1985 as the sixth undergraduate college of the University of New Hampshire. UNH Manchester merged with Granite State College in 2023 to form the UNH College of Professional Studies, which expands online offerings across UNH and enhances support of online and on campus learners in the state and region. The University of New Hampshire is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (formerly the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.), which accredits schools and colleges in the six New England states. Accreditation indicates that the institution has been carefully reviewed and found to meet or exceed standards agreed upon by nationally recognized educators.
Faculty
The Manchester faculty is our greatest asset. Residential faculty members have earned reputations for excellent teaching, scholarly achievement in their fields and service to the community. They are recognized scholars and have acquired national and international reputations for their expertise. Adjunct faculty members bring applied experience and a commitment to teaching to the classroom. Most importantly, our dedicated faculty are not just teachers—they are mentors who are invested in the success of each student. Faculty members work closely with students as advisers to help define their goals, plan career objectives and develop an individualized program of study within their major to prepare them for success after graduation.
